Give Yourself a Raise

Give Yourself a Raise

If anything, hearing and communication are critical in any workplace. Our ability to hear -- and hear without impedance -- connects us to others and our environments, and has a significant impact on our quality of life both at work and at home.

In a recent study, the Better Hearing Institute reports that workers with untreated hearing loss earn an average of $30,000 less.  About 60% of the approximately 34 million hearing impaired Americans are in the workplace. Those workers can be less productive and their careers can suffer if the hearing loss is left untreated. There is a strong relationship between the degree of hearing loss and unemployment.

In addition, a recent study featured in The Hearing Journal confirms that the average difference in income between those with a mild and severe hearing loss can be upwards of $14,100, and those workers with untreated hearing loss may lose as much as $30,000 in annual income.

Now there is a reason for protecting your hearing from noise-induced hearing loss! You can look at it as an investment in your future earning capability.
